The dynamic effect of speaking fast on speech prosody

Speaking fast causes several changes in speech prosody. In addition, it can be associated with a decrease intelligibility. this study, prosodic were investigated using common measurements and syllabic prosody index (SPI), novel prominence measure that combines f0, energy duration features. Dynamic long-term functional data analysis (FDA), which the SPI is transformed into form. The possibly decreasing effect of speaking on intelligibility was evaluated automatic recognition. Phonetic analyses units showed decreases duration, f0 SPI, increases articulation rate proportional acoustic frequency range 0–1 kHz. FDA supported aforementioned results by revealing dynamically decreased overall speech. Furthermore, comparison to regular speech, found significantly lower speech: word error (WER) for 0.27, whereas 0.86.
